The Grant County Fair

If you tell me there is a fair going on, you'd better believe I'll be there.  Especially if its on a FREE day and spaceburgers are involved.  Last year I was pregnant with Perry during the Grant County Fair, and when Amanda, Bo's sister, posted a picture of her eating a spaceburger, oh man, did I start craving one bad.  Since I was in Indiana, and could do nothing about this craving, I had to wait a WHOLE YEAR to finally come to peace with this craving. And the peace was made by going and getting me one. Or two.  Maybe three??  YUM.
Oh yeah, I also went for, you know, the animals....My kids had fun looking at the farm animals.  They loved the horses most. And the rabbits.  They always love the rabbits.  Who can blame them? Soft, small, nice, easy to handle.
It was a fun, super hot, day.  We were joined on this trip by Amanda and her kids, Terra and her kids, Bo's dad and Grandma, and Bo's cousin Rian.  Unfortunately I only got pictures of my children.  And me, eating a spaceburger while nursing.  That's talent right there.

Grandpa/Great Grandpa Beus

Right after moving to Washington, Bo's grandpa got really sick.  They were living here in the Tri-Cities too, so when Grandpa Beus was checked into the hospital, Bo was able to go and see him.  Not long after he was checked in, he was moved to hospice and we were told he would be passing away soon.  About two weeks later, I think the 19th?, he passed away.  I'm sad I wasn't able to go take the kids to go see him, but I am so glad Bo was able to visit with his Grandpa before he became unresponsive and then gone.
His funeral was held in Othello, and all of the Grandkids and Great Grandkids sung a few songs in the funeral.  Here are some pictures of us at the gravesite.  Grandpa Beus was a wonderful, caring, giving, and funny man.  He will be greatly missed, but I know he'll watch out for us on the other side.

Libby Came to Visit!!

My sister, Liberty, came to visit Washington for like 2 weeks in July, and somehow these are the only pictures I took!!
On the occasion of these pictures, Ivin and Christina and kids, Libby and her kids, my mom, and my posse, all went to The Aquatic Center in Moses Lake.  We spent a long time swimming and having fun.  Carter and Ivie tried out the body boarding area, while Derrick and the triplets could have played on this "ship" in the shallow end forever.  Megan and Rebekah played mermaids and had a good time too.  Libby isn't in the pool pictures, because by the time I remembered to pull out my camera, she had already left to put her littles down for nap at my parents.  woops.
After the pool we all went to my parents home where we had yummy corn and watermelon and hot dogs. I love summertime and yummy summer food!!  The kids played with the animals, got out the golf and cars, and just had fun playing with each other.  This day was pretty much the perfect example to why Bo and I decided to move back home.  We wanted our kids to be able to see their cousins more often.

Park Fun

Yeah, I'm still posting from events way back in July.  I am starting to get skeptical on every catching up.
A couple times this summer I joined up with Terra and took the kids to this park that had a giant shallow pool.  The kids had fun playing in this.  There aren't many swimming pools around here, so we take what we can get!
This park also has a fun playground area, complete with a swing zipline.  The kids, especially Carter, really enjoyed playing on this. The last picture I posted might be my favorite ever.  Carter is carrying Derrick while on the zipline. Awwww.

My Birthday Breakfast

My kids are wonderful.  Amazing.  Funny and thoughtful.  Bo had to work on my birthday, which left me with the kids and a new area and no friends.  I was a little sad to start with, but my kids turned my mood around fast!  It started off like any other morning, me making them breakfast and then going upstairs to get ready.  However, while I was upstairs, Megan told me to "stay there" for like 15 minutes, and the kids all escorted me downstairs.  What I found downstairs seriously made my day.  The kids had made me breakfast!!  They had banana bread on the table, strawberries that they had WASHED and TRIMMED and put in a bowl, and cherry tomatoes which they had arranged in a smiley face on a plate. :)  They also gave me the You Are Special plate.  Darling.  All of it. And the look on their faces!  They were just so proud of themselves.  Rightfully so.!  After that, while I was nursing Perry on the couch, we turned on music and they danced for me.  It was pretty stellar.
I love my kids.  I love being a mom.  Sure it can be hard, but moments like this make it so worth it.  Thank you, my lovely kids, for picking me as your mom. Thanks for being such wonderful children.  We may drive each other crazy sometimes, we may fight other times, but I am always so happy to be your mom and love you with all my heart.

Bowling Fun and Scooter Time

Terra and I signed the kids up for free Summer bowling, so we just had to go at least once.  I apologize for some of the pictures.  The ones that are blurry were taken from my phone.  The kids had lots of fun bowling, and I wish I'd taken them more.  Behind the townhouses that we live in is an alley.  It is pretty much the parking lot for the cars, in between 2 rows of homes, so it's protected from the street.  This concrete oval is paradise for my children.  They absolutely love riding their bikes and scooters on it and beg almost every day to go out and play.  Don't worry, they are very good at running to a grassy area as soon as they see a car. This area behind the homes is pretty much the ultimate thing to living in the townhomes. :)
