Chuck e cheese

In an effort to get the kids out of the house on a no school Monday AND get them to help me to deep clean the house, we made a trip to our local chuck e cheese. Complete with the kids chanting "chuck e cheese!" The whole drive there. True story.
The kids had a blast.  Carter spent most of the time there earning hundreds, and this is no exaggeration, on a jump rope game. Megan loved taking Perry around on the rides, and Derrick enjoyed throwing balls and any games requiring pounding. And me? I had fun watching my kids not fight. :)

Pinewood derby time!!

Carter participated in his pack's pinewood derby last night!
He made his car, which looks like an arrow, with his dad's and Uncle Ivin's help.
Mostly thanks to Ivin, Carter's car took First!!!!!!  Carter was so excited. Apparently here they have districts, and the top three from all the wards/packs go. So lucky Carter gets to race again!

Wolverine, but not really.

I'm sure I've posted this dozens of times, but Derrick is obsessed with dress ups. Dress ups and puzzles. Anyways, this morning Derrick had his wolverine costume on and then said to me "guess what mom, I'm really Derrick!" Me " no way!" Him: "I am!"  He then took his mask and said, "see?? Its Derrick!!"
Oh that boy, he's so cute.
On another note, Megs told Bo today that she only likes hot boys. Bo then asked her what hot boys were. "Boys that look cool."  Oh no.  The best part was Bo telling me that this was a conversation that he was hoping to delay for 10 years and that maybe he should go shutgun shopping.

Those kids of mine...

Megan told me the other day that she doesn't want to have babies when she grows up. I asked her why? Her response was that she didn't want to be in pain. Whoops, I must've complained a little too much when I was preggers with Perry. Uh oh. Hopefully she'll forget, because I want all the grand babies I can get.
A couple nights ago I did the laundry, shocking, I know.  Anyways, the next morning Derrick ran excitedly into my room telling me he had pants again, and that it was "magic!"  Hmmmm ....

Just Dance!!

We pulled out Just Dande on the Wii tonight and had ourselves a dance off.
One of my goals this year is to be more fun and carefree with my kids. I'm hoping I accomplished it a little tonight with this fun activity.

Happy Birthday Bo!!!

Yesterday we headed over to Seattle to work on Carter's pinewood derby car at Ivin's , since he's the expert on those. 😃
We meant to return last night so that we could beat a snow storm, but unfortunately that didn't happen.
Trying to leave as quickly as we could so that we could make snoqualmie pass before chains became mandatory (which we don't have) , we ended up NOT getting out early enough, so we decided try a different way and go over Whites Pass, where there was no mandatory chain rule.
The drive added an hour and a half, but it was sooooo pretty.
And that's what we did for Bo for his birthday 😃.
Someone gave Bo this giant gummy bear , and the kids are giving Bo some accessories for his new truck, along with a case for his new cell phone.
Happy Birthday, Bo. We love you so much and think that you are the absolute best dad in the whole world. You are my hero!!

Happy New Years!!

Carter and I stayed up until midnight last night bringing in the new year! Bo was working, but that didn't stop us from having fun!!
Here's to a new year! A chance to make goals and make myself better than I was last year. Fingers crossed.
So far it's been a success. I painted Meg's nails, did a puzzle or two with Derrick, laughed and tickled Perry, and joked around with Carter.  I can do this parenting thing....
Oh yeah, Perry crawled around after me today crying "mama". I'm going to claim it as his first words! 😃
