We Showed Them!

So Carter and Megan WILL NOT stay in their room when it's bed time. They think it's so funny to come sneaking out the room and down the hall. It takes about an hour or two to get them to stay in bed.
Child-proof door handles? Yeah, they can take those off. So not cool.
Well they can't get out anymore, that's right! We showed them who's the boss. Of course they have no idea why exactly they can't open their door, all they know is that their plot has been foiled! HA!
Small victory for the parents. We'll take what we can get.
And yes, when we go to bed, we take the string back off the door.

Vacation to Victoria

Bo and I were able to get away and take a little vacation to Victoria, BC while we were in Washington. We left Thursday, August 5th, and came back on Monday the 9th. It was NICE. We ate some good food, slept in, did sight seeing, souvenir shopping, read books, and pretty much just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves.
Thursday was spent driving and riding the ferry, Friday we went whale watching and walked around the city, Saturday we went to Butchart Gardens, Sunday was spent relaxing and reading, Monday we took the ferry back to Washington, went shopping at some outlet malls, then drove back home.
We had a blast, but by the end we were really missing our kids. They are darn cute and we love them. Thanks Grandma Sandy and Grandma and Grandpa Baker for watching the kids!!!
This picture is out of order, because I decided to add it last minute. You can see the Mother Orca and it's baby on the left.
Part of the port of Victoria

Bo and I killing time while waiting to get on our whale watching tour.

Harbor Seal

Two of the Orcas. I think this was the Mother and it's baby. They were really fun to watch.

We were able to watch the Orcas for a long time. Some came up pretty close, and while I have tons of pictures, these two are probably the best. We did get a video of one jumping out of water and landing on it's back. It was pretty sweet.

.

The BEAUTIFUL Butchart Gardens.
We went there on the Saturday of our trip because Saturdays are the only days when they have their fireworks, and trust me, you WANT to see the fireworks. Unfortunately, Saturday was the day it decided, of all the days on our trip, to rain. It was only supposed to rain in the morning but ended up raining the whole day. Well actually it stopped just in time for the fireworks, so I guess I can't complain too much.

It was so beautiful. I really wish it wasn't raining, so that we could enjoy it a little more, but we still had fun viewing the scenery. I'd have to say my favorite part was the super yummy hot chocolates I had while walking around. mmmm.mmm. haha.

I want to have this rose in my garden!

What I was doing pretty much the whole time. My pants were soaked by the time it was over.

Japanese Garden

I thought this plant was cool.

I think I had on 5 layers of clothing in this picture. It was wet and was getting cold.

The Park at night. Pretty, right?
A giant fountain that was lit up at night.

A Toast

A toast to 28. May it be better than 27. WAAAAAAY better.
Please?
Really, it shouldn't be that hard.
For my birthday, my brother Ivin and his wife, Christina, along with their kids and Christina's siblings, all came to Moses Lake for the weekend of the 18th to celebrate my birthday.
And boy did we CELEBRATE!!!
I even had a theme! That's how cool they were, they threw me a THEMED party!!
I told them all I wanted was a pinata, so what did they do? They got me a princess castle pinata! They also got me a tiara and wand, and everyone else had those little paper rollup blower thingys along with tiaras too.
Yeah it was pretty rad. Bet you wish you had one, huh?
Oh it was so much fun. We all had a blast. I think Carter wished me Happy Birthday for like 4 days after that.
Thanks Ivin and Christina and Co.!!!!!!

Aren't my kids sooooo cute??

Yes, we are hitting the pinata in our church clothes. Yes, we hit the pinata BEFORE church. hahaa. It was the only time that would work. Besides, we needed something for the kids to munch on at church. Okay, okay, mostly just me.

Cousins, Cousins, and More Cousins!!

Things have been crazy busy, and due to no camera cord, I haven't posted pictures. I'm sure you've noticed. haha
I doubt much of you follow my blog anymore. I don't blame you. Well no more! I'm getting my act together!!
A ton of our time here in WA has been playing with cousins galore. First we were in Seattle, then we were in Oregon. Then the family from Seattle came to visit. Then while my German friend Daniela was visiting from the Canary Islands, the family from Oregon came to visit. THEN we went to Othello and saw all of Bo's family. Busy. Busy, busy.
That's how we work. We're a family kind of family. haha.
Enjoy the pictures, because lets be honest, that's what you want to see.
