Chuck E Cheese

One of Carter's favorite places to go to is Chuck E Cheese. I often find coupons for the place in movies that I've boughten, so when I go I usually have a good deal.
One of the things I also like about the place is that you can bring your own food. So, if you have a good coupon and you bring your own food, it's actually a cheap activity!
Anyways, last week we made yet another trip to Chuck E Cheese. Carter has been doing AWESOME at using the bathroom and wearing underwear (2 weeks with SLIM accidents!) so we thought we'd go celebrate with some friends. We had a good time, as always.
Carter is crazy there. He loves jumping from ride to ride and is impatient for his ride to end so he can go get on another one. I must confess that even I have a favorite. . . the one where you roll those little balls and try to get them in the holes. name? I don't know. Yeah I always want to play that one but Carter can't get down the whole roll the ball thing and ends up just throwing them, so we don't get to play it as much as we'd like. haha.
Megan loved the place too. All those flashing lights and noises? What's not to like?!
Some random kid on the ride with Carter. This is by far his favorite ride.

Pioneer Day

Here are some fun pics from our Ward Pioneer Day party. Carter had fun joining in on the games, especially the tug-of-war. He didn't even care that he was one of the youngest.

Not for me

While I might make some dang cute kids, I must finally confess that Motherhood is not for me.
I always pictured I would be a great mom. I don't know why. I have also always told myself that I would only have as many kids as I could handle. Who would have thought it would be 2 too many before I realized it?
That being said.. . what do I do?
I don't know.
For today at least, Motherhood is not for me. Definetly not one of my talents.
Today is one of those really hard days. Today is a day when I wished I had a Barnes and Noble nearby, where I could go escape on a chair in an air-conditioned building, kid free, and read a book.
I think I'm losing not only my sanity, but my identity.

(in a side note--maybe my air conditioner being broken and my husband never home is what is making this day so hard. . .)

Today is my birthday! And to celebrate it, Bo is on-call. Yay for me.
According to one of my Young Women, 27 is the new 20. She might just be my favorite now! :) haha.
I've decided 27 is going to AWESOME. That's right friends, get ready for me to tear it up!

We actually sorta celebrated my birthday yesterday, since Bo is going to be gone all day today. Bo got me beautiful roses, a new camera (SWEET!), chocolate turtles, and two cars for Carter, since Carter's convinced it's his birthday too. Oh yeah, Bo also got my favorite, an ice cream birthday cake. Love that man!

Bo made me dinner, empanadas, and then we left the kids with a friend and went to Harry Potter. So, besides the fact that it wasn't actually my birthday, I'd have to say that it was one wonderful birthday.

Now if only Bo can pull some miracle and get home early today. . . .

The wait is over!

Bo got his tests results today for that big ole Step 1 test he took at the beginning of June. All I can says, PHEW, I'm glad that's over with. I HATE waiting for things.
Oh the relief.
Good job Bo!! We're so proud of you. I'm no expert on this sorta thing, but his score should give him fairly good chance of getting into the specific field he wants, which right now is ENT. Woohoo Bo!

I don't want to forget

I was talking to my mother in law on the phone today, telling her random things about the kiddos that make me laugh, and she asked me if I was writing them down. Now I love to blog, but my kids do things that crack me up all the time, and if I blogged them everytime, then I'd have a billion posts, not to mention no one would ever comment. Lets face it: the longer you have a post up, the more comments you get! And comments are like Christmas presents to me. :)
Anyways, she brought up a good point, and I should write some of these down. This is for them, afterall.
So lets all take a trip down memory lane, or what I hope will become memory lane.
Carter is starting to make-believe. Since watching Ice Age 3 the other day, he has become obsessed with anything to do with Ice Age. Today he stuck two fingers, pointed down, next to his mouth and came after me, claiming to be a tiger. I screamed, "oh no, a saber toothed tiger!" To which he replied, "no I'm just one tiger." (toothed sounds like two ( inserted that for you who can't follow the thinking path of a 3 year old :) )) I then had to clarify. Funny boy. He then put the fingers, pointing up, on his nose, and claimed he was a rhino. Some days he's a helicopter or an airplane. He really likes to pretend to ride the lawnmower, which includes background noise and turning the key off.
I had to put on a child lock on the OUTSIDE of Megan's door. Why? Carter kept going in there and putting on her clothes!! Who knew that Meg's pink pants can be shorts on Carter? Or that her sun dress can also be made to be a tank top?? Oh he looked sooo funny. I should've gotten him out of it, but Bo was coming home soon, and now THAT was an expression and conversation I just did NOT want to miss. I think Bo was in the door 2 seconds before he took Carter away and changed his clothes, all the while Carter screaming and crying. In his defense, he didn't realize it was girls clothes, or I guess I should say that wasn't why he was putting them on. He was doing this because he wanted to be a baby, and those were baby clothes. Oh his thinking. . . .
Megan has an attitude. I love it. It cracks me up. She knows when she's missing out. If Carter and I are wrestling on the floor, you'd better believe she's heading right over to join in on the fun. She has no idea what's going on, but she knows she wants a part of it. If Carter has a popsicle or juice box, Meg follows him around and won't let him out of her sight. If WE have one? Oh she grunts and whines non stop till she gets a piece of it. And she won't let go!
Megan knows she's hilarious. She could commit murder and we'd laugh. Oh she's so funny. She has the funniest laugh too. She picked up my phone the other day, and while thinking she was doing what I do (put it next to the ear), she put it behind her head with her elbow to her ear. Oh she was grinning so much, a toothless tongue-sticking-out kind of grin. She was so proud of herself. Of course I then laugh, which makes her laugh, which is actually a grunty raspy thing, thus making me laugh more.
Meg thinks she so awesome. She grabs the kitchen chairs and pushes them around the room, all the while looking at you with that funny smile. You know she's thinking that she's pretty cool "walking" around. Oh yeah. Meg's favorite room is the bathroom. She love Love LOVES to flush the toilet. The little stinker. She thinks its the best thing ever. She's also realized how fun it is to grab at the toilet paper and pull. Now I know most of you are thinking this could be easily remedied: just keep the door shut. We are in potty training mode here though, so that's easier said then down. It's nice though, if I ever want to know where Meg is, I just have to wait, and sure enough, I'll hear the toilet flush.
One last thing, which again might be boring to you, but I thought it was hilarious. Well actually two things. . . Carter was riding his bike around today, and upon realizing something (I forget what) said, "aw DANG it!" I love it! I think it's hilarious. The other thing was that I was telling him tonight that it was time to eat and that we were having cheese sandwiches (grilled), chicken noodle soup, and green beans (Bo was off at a school thing), and he got up to the table with a big grin on his face and said "I'm so excited!" SOOOO Funny. Maybe I should make that more often. . . . . . . with all the on calls Bo has, I probably will.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again
(good thing too, seeing as how I'm going to be with him for eternity)

First Steps!

I was at my friends house this morning and I set Meg down on the floor, helping her balance on her feet. I let go and was SHOCKED that she was doing such a good job balancing. As I started hollering for my friend to come see, Meg took a step!! Now she's tried before and fallen. This time? She caught her self with arms in the air and balanced herself!!! She then took TWO MORE STEPS!!! All alone and in the middle of the room. Good job Megan!!

*I'm feeling a little upset that my baby's already at this stage. *

Why, the little liar!

So last week in church the Primary President came up to Bo and me and jokingly told us that we need to stop refusing Carter underwear.

Apparenty during Sunbeams Carter decided he needed to go "wet" in the toilet. Great news, huh?. . . . if only he'd do so at home. . . anyways, when the president asked him why he wasn't wearing underwear, he told her that we don't let him wear underwear and go potty on the toilet.

Carter-we're BEGGING you to be potty trained. Little stinker refuses at home.

love her

I am in love with that tush. And those thighs!! How do legs like that support her?
This morning Meg decided to stand her self up, using my knee, and then let go and just stand totally balanced by herself for like 10 sec!!!! She did this a couple of times. Am I ready for my baby to be doing this??

A note from my mom

This is a note my mom left me when she went on a trip while we were in Washington a few weeks ago. I thought it was funny.

Note reads:

Dear Cassidy,

Here are things I got done: NOTHING!

Things I want you to do: NOTHING!
Just take care of China and Bug. (Megan and Carter)

IF you could keep both hoses going front and back and move them morning and night that would be wonderful.

I love you,

P.S. vacuum is in my room.

We've searched high and low, held many a tryout, and are now pleased to announce Megan Lee Beus as the newest singer for the Beus Family Rock Band.

We couldn't be prouder.
