Almost there. . . okay not really

I feel like the little engine that could. "I think I can, I think I can." Man moving is hard! Good luck Serena!
I'm not posting pics yet because it's only been a day and there is NO WAY I am even close to having my stuff unloaded.
I'm tired of it. "I think I can, I think I can." I have to keep this going through my head as I walk through the house. I even turned on music, *Sam*, to get me pumped. :)
Thanks to all those who volunteered paper! I did not give you the shaft, I simply didn't have the internet (phone/internet was down because of the moving) so I didn't know you had offered! This is mostly pointed toward Stephanie. When I saw you this morning I still didn't have internet so I didn't know you'd offered. Thank you. I think we have some now.
I'm getting a nice massage right now. I did something funky to my shoulder while cleaning. Ahhh. Husbands are the best. I highly recommend them.
Was this random enough?

PS---- I thought all of you hopeful blog book people out there would like to know that blurb.com can now upload your entries from blogspot! YAY! Go make your books before it stops again.

Moving isn't fun. Even if it is just down the road.
Bo needed to use the printer, which isn't packed yet. Unfortunately he also needs paper for it. whoops. That is packed. hahaha.
I think the most exhausting part of moving is the cleaning. I always clean the house I move into (this house really needed, as the workers fixing it didn't have time to clean after drywalling and sawing), and then AFTER all the moving you have to clean the house you left. Not to mention I'll probably have to clean our new house again after everything is in place.
Now. . . can anyone lend us some paper? :)

Ouch

I've had a headache all morning. Really annoying. I took two tylenol this morning and nothing worked. A few hours later I took two ibuprofin. Two kids and a headache are not a good combo.
Anyways. . . Ibuprofin started working. Hooray!! So what do I do? I decide to go into Carter's closet to get out a container, you know, for packing/moving purposes, and while trying to make my way out of the room that has toys all over the floor, I trip over his little tricycle, fall over the container which is still in my arms, and face plant it into the door.
My headache is back.
It's gonna be a great day.

On the bright side, Carter is insisting on wearing underwear today. Unless he makes everything wet because he forgets to go to the toilet. Then it's not such a bright side.

Nap time.

When it rains, it pours

That's how my blogging is anyways. Sorry (but not really) for the many posts!

Carter decided to put on Meg's pants yesterday. This is what he looked like when Bo came home:

Bo immediately made him take them off. Funny boy. both of them actually.

For St. Patrick's Day we decided to start the day of with green waffles and green syrup.

We then promptly forgot the holiday the rest of the day. haha.

Last but not least. . . .

These pictures are proof , sort of, that the kids do get along some of the time!

I wish this picture wasn't blurry!

6 months!!

Oh this is sad. Megan's actually almost 7 months, but because I've been so busy, I forgot to post her stats!
Sorry Meg!!!

Megan is: (drum roll please)
weight: 19 lbs. 2 oz = 95 percentile ( I actually think the scale is wrong and that she's HEAVIER)
length: 26.2 in. = 70 percentile
head: 17 in. = 70 percentile
She's big and we LOVE it!!!

She's such a darling girl. She is sooooo good. She takes Carter in good stride. She is generally a happy baby, unless I leave, then apparently she is a wreck (according to Bo). What can I say? She loves her Mama.

In the past few weeks Meg has FINALLY figured out how to roll!! She can roll from her tummy and her back! She is also figuring out how to stay sitting up. Can she really be that old already??? *tear*-- lots of them.

She also is figuring out how to eat!! We started feeding her rice cereal, which she didn't take too well at first, but in the past couple of days she has finally gotten excited and opened her mouth for more. WHOHOO!!!!

Here are some pics of Meg and her first official bite of her rice cereal. Carter was the one who did the honors!

Crazy busy

We have had some friends, the Katz family, in town for about a week and a couple of days, so life has been a little crazy. Fun, but still crazy. They have a 3 year old daughter that is actually only 6 days younger then Carter, and they also have a 10 mo. old little girl. That makes it a total of 4 kids and 4 adults hanging around my little apartment!! They actually are just at our place during the day. They are staying at their house at night. . .
They actually used to live here, but since IKE, they have been relocated to California. They came back to good ole Galveston for match day (Ben's graduating from med. school in a month) so that they could be with their fellow classmates when they found out where they would be going for residency, and they also came into town to wrap up a few things with their house.
Oh their house! Did I mention that we're moving? We are! Since the Katz's (?) are leaving, they have decided to rent their house out to none other then yours truly! Oh we are sooooo excited. A house, friends, a house!! We can hardly wait for the yard to put Carter in, not to mention 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms!!! There's going to be so much room!
So between friends and the thought of moving (nope, I actually haven't started packing because the thought alone is enough to exhaust me), I have neglected my poor blog and whatever faithful readers I have left.
I apologize.
How about some pictures to make everything better? Oh okay. Here they are!

Oh. . . let me just say a quick story to explain the pictures. When we drove my parents to the airport a few weeks ago, my mom drew a pirate mustache and beard on Carter with her eyeliner while in the back seat with him. Since then Carter has bugged me a BILLION times to make him a pirate with my makeup. Well. . . one of those times was when Ava was at our house. That is why they both have mustaches, beards, and dark eyebrows. They're pirates of course!!!

awwwww. . . what's more tender then two 3 year olds with faces like pirates that are hugging??

Carter arranged these blocks this way all by himself. We thought it looked really cool so we had to take a picture of it!! I'm proud of him, it looked so neat!!

The Livestock Show

When my parents were here, one of the must do things that we did was go to the Houston Livestock Show. We love this time of year and being able to go to it!! So much fun. We ate good food, petted and saw lots of animals, and just enjoyed some relaxing fun.
Unfortunately Carter wasn't the most well mannered kid that day. He actually was quite the stinker. He was just not listening to us at all and was whiney and trying to run away and everything else. He was just sooo exhausted from sleeping in a different room at different times and so on while my parents were here . . . . . . .. I need excuses to his behavior because I really don't want to think that I'm raising a child that is like this all the time, and that he's going to keep being like this. . . . so he was naughty because he was exhausted. yep. that's my story. and his if he knows whats good for him. :)
Most of the pictures from the day are of him at the petting zoo. That was fun. A stupid deer kept trying to eat my shirt. Really. It must have thought my green shirt was grass???? It was fun though.

Grandparents!!!

My parents were in town last week. We had soooo much fun. They were here for approx. a week. We played at the house, showed Ike destruction, had way too much fun with balloons, went to the Houston Livestock Show, went on walks, ate good food, played Rock Band (we actually got my dad to participate!) and went out to eat. It's always so fun to have guests, especially ones that help watch the kiddos and let us sleep in!!!! :)
Oh yeah-- Thanks Dad for fixing our car!!!!! We didn't think it was possible, and it almost wasn't. Luckily he had a breakthrough the last day he was here!! We're back to being a 2 car family. All may join in the celebration!!!

Here are some pics of when they were here, excluding the livestock show which will be in a seperate post.
Playing around with Meg's hair.
Meg isn't clothed much in the first few pics because she had a bad fever for a couple of days. Luckily she was fine. We never did take her to the doctor. The nurse had told us just to keep fluids in her, and so we did and she was fine.

Rock on Dad! You can tell he's having the time of his life. He actually did pretty good.

This picture just captures Carter ALL DAY LONG!! Leave her cheeks alone!!!!

motivation

I'm just trying to find the motivation to write all the posts that I have stored up in my camera and brain.
Any of that posting going on tonight?
Nope.
It's 10 min. to midnight.
Not happening.

I will leave you with this random message:

I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them Sam I Am.

I found a melted green crayon in the dryer two days ago. Ruined my favorite shirt. Ruined a lot of favorites. Stupid pockets that hide things like crayons. grrrrr.

Ironically my fav. shirt that got ruined was green. It said "real mint flavor" it was awesome. You can't see the green crayon but you can see the waxy oily residue. fun times.

I'm thinking of holding a service for said shirt. All are invited. Unless you think I can still wear it. The real bad spot is on the back. . . .

Sick?

For the last couple of days Meg's voice has gotten kinda low, and a little husky. How can you tell on a 5 mo. (almost 6 months--AHHHH) old?? A mother knows. I told Bo and he even noticed it too. Today I'm noticing a little cough too. Not a whole body hacking one, but it's like the hollow kind.
Is she sick?
She's not acting it. She's still happy and smiley. I don't think I should trust that though. I have tough kids. Or at least Carter was, and since he is the only child I've known, he is the example I will be using.
I think I'll call the doctor tomorrow. My mom would think I'm paranoid. I might be, but she's my baby and you can never be sure. A baby boy in our ward had the whooping cough last summer and was in the hospital for a month. I know that Meg doesn't have that, but it's made me very aware of the possibility of sick kids.
My poor baby. Lucky it hasn't phased her.
