Moving

So tomorrow we'll finally be done moving. YAY!!!! Okay, when I say finally, what I really mean is, at least we'll be done officially with THIS move. We are are still going to be moving again in a month, and then again in August. BUT. . . at least then it will just be moving boxes around, instead of putting things in them, cleaning, sorting, etc.

Tomorrow I'm also going to the dentist. I hate the dentist. I always get bad news. Maybe if I brushed my teeth once in awhile it wouldn't be so bad. . . :) totally kidding, I brush constantly. Anyone who's been my roommate can attest to that. I just have that sort of luck. I had a friend once who wanted to go and try out for the Amazing Race with me--or at least we talked about doing it together-- and then she told me later, "you know what, I don't think I want to be your partner, you have the WORST luck." So true, so true. It is! Ask anyone. When is the last time any of you can recall me winning something? So we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm not having any hopes. I am expecting the worse, because time and time again I get it--at least when it comes to my teeth. Oh wow, I sound all depressed on life. So not the case. I'm happy about everything else in my life! When you have a cute husband and the CUTEST little boy, who can complain?

This weekend we might go back down to Galveston to go look for housing AGAIN. Don't ask, it's way too long of a story. To sum it up, the place we found fell through, so we get to go look for more. Bo only has 4 more weeks of work left! We are so excited. We can't wait for summer. It's going to be fun. It's our last official free summer before med school starts and life gets crazy.

It's amazing how fast Carter is growing and learning. He got another new tooth this week, a molar, and it looks like another molar is about to break through too. That will be 3 molars in that many weeks. Poor little guy. We were at the park this week and he accidently got pushed off the sidewalk by another little kid and went face first into the rocks. My poor little guy, he's got tons of little bruises on the left side of his forehead. You can see where each little rock made contact with his head. He's tough though, and after 10 minutes acted like nothing ever happened. Still . .. I felt sooo bad for the little guy.

That's about all that happened this week. Hopefully with me not having to pack or move at all next week and month, I'll be able to make more entries. Hope everyone's well and happy.

If it's not one thing, it's another

So for the last two weeks I have been sick. Nothing compared to Samantha, mind you, but still it was bad enough. It's soooooo hard taking care of a sick kid when you yourself are sick. Bo and I got sick last week, we think it had something to do with the no power and thus freezing house, and then I continued to be sick and Carter joined me this week. It was nothing too bad, just annoying. Sore throat, aching body, you know. I could have dealt with that just fine, but then my teeth started hurting. My whole right side of my mouth is in so much pain, especially when I eat. Most likely I'm going to need a root canal. I just have that sort of luck. Go me.

We went to San Antonio this weekend. It was really fun. We were supposed to help out with the our ward's youth baptisms, but that fell through--LONG STORY, so we ended up just playing the whole time. Bo's aunt and uncle live there, along with his 3 cousins. It was fun. They have a daughter that's 3 weeks younger than Carter, so it was fun watching them play together. We didn't do any sight seeing--you can only see the Alamo so many times :) --but it was still fun to just go and relax and have fun with family, we're definetly going to have to go there more often, or hopefully at least once more before we move.

So Bo got into another med school (Texas Tech) on Friday. It's over on the west side of the state, up in the pan handle. We are going to turn them down, but still, it's fun to have options!! It would be cheaper to live there, but Bo likes Galveston's program tons more, so at the moment we're still set on Galveston. We'll probably have to make another trip there though, 'cause the housing we had found there fell through, so now we get to go look for more. Bo is still on the waiting list for UT Southwestern, which is in Dallas. We probably won't hear from them until May or early June. We'll have to see.

The contract on our apartment ends this month, which means this upcoming weekend we're moving in with Whitney. Whoohoo! It will be hard, but fun. I'm excited to live with them because after May they are moving to Pennsylvania, and we'll be moving to Galveston with a 2 month break in ML first, so we'll be able to play a ton before we leave each other. So yeah, wish me luck with the dentist and packing this week!

Easter!

Yeah okay, so sorry about not writing for awhile. It's amazing how fast the week goes. So Galveston was fun. Well, actually it was kinda depressing. It got us excited to go to school, but seriously, the apartments we saw, and we even went to some NICE ones, they were all a little ghetto. That's because everything in Galveston is old. Oh well. We found a good deal on one that is next to campus. Not only that, but it's also close to a park AND the beach. So I'm a little happy about that.

Easter was crazy! Luckily my friend and I decided to do an easter egg hunt on the Wednesday instead of Saturday before Easter, because that Saturday it snowed!!! That's right SNOWED--in Texas no less! A big Artic storm came in with a huge cold front, and made the weekend miserable. Okay, I shouldn't say that, at first it was fun. . . . until the power went out! We had to run some errands on Saturday evening, and while we were driving around in the snow, the power went out in the city. It was crazy! The street lights went out, the traffic lights went out, you name it. We were sliding all over the place--which I'll admit, we're a little embarrassed about, seeing as how we survived an Alaskan winter.

We came home about 8 at night, and found out our power was out too. As I said, it was fun at first, using candles and all, but then it got COLD. When we woke up the next morning, HAPPY EASTER, we still had no power. We went over to Whitney's (my brother) and had pancakes and eggs on his coleman gas stove. Oh but don't worry, aparently our little neighborhood was one of the only ones that didn't have power still. We were looking forward to going to church to get warm, but aparently they were out of power too. They had the generators on enough to give light in the chapel and bathrooms and that's all. No heat, no lights. Fun. I don't think I'd ever been so cold!

Luckily we had a friend who invited us over after church to have dinner and get warm. We could've stayed the night, but thank goodness the power went back on at about 6 that evening. So that was our Easter. The Easter bunny visited us twice though, and that was fun. He left us something at Whitney's and our house. It's been fun having family so close. I don't know what we'll do next year.

We had a good Easter, it was unique, to say the least. Carter was fun to watch getting the Easter eggs. He was excited to find them, but it still took him sometime to connect that he should put them in the basket. He loved the snow too! It made up for him not being able to play in any at Christmas time. He had fun trying to catch the snowflakes, which were HUGE, and I mean HUGE! So that was our weekend. I hope everyone else had a good weekend and week!

A Day Off

So for the past few days I've been babysitting this kid that we know. It's a good way to earn extra money. I usually watch him a couple of times a week, and have been doing this for the past 5 months. Anyways, I don't have to watch him the rest of the week, so I get a break! Yippie! I haven't had a day to just me and Carter in a long time. I kinda don't know what to do. :) I've been looking up recipes on the internet, and I think I'll cook some new food. That's always exciting. I think we'll go on a walk, and I'll blow bubbles for him. Of course I'll probably do some laundry and vacuum too. My house always needs to be vacuumed. It's amazing the mess 2 kids can make. I wonder what my house will look like when I have it full of kids.
Bo has Friday off. YAY! I guess his school district is having no school because it's "Good Friday." I think it's funny, but hey, I'm not complaining. We're going to take off to Galveston and go look at apartments and check out the places. Wish us luck! We might go to the beach, but I haven't decided yet. The waves knocked Carter down last time, and made him phobic of water for a couple of weeks. Still. . . if we're going to live there he's got to get used to it, right? We'll see.

I'm excited for Easter. I bought Carter a cute little Sunday shirt, some toys, and Bo and bought some plastic eggs that we're going to fill up with candy. Our plan is to go over to my friends, hide the eggs in the yard, and let her son and Carter go find them. I'm excited. Hopefully Carter will get into it. I think he will. Actually, he'll probably think they are balls and throw them. Whatever gets him happy! What are everyone elses plans?

I'll write and let you know how everything went! Happy Easter, and Good Friday--I guess :)
