Easter Egg Hunt!!

We had our ward Easter party on Saturday. The kids were SO EXCITED. Both of them really got into it this year. I just love watching my kids do an Easter Egg Hunt. It's right up there with watching them on Christmas morning and Halloween. It's just so fun to see them get in to it.

Meg would shake each egg to make sure something was in it before she put in the basket. That's my girl!!

Carter was a pro this year. He was content to go off on his own, hence not as many pictures of him.

This picture reminds me of one of those photo stands, you know where they have a picture with its face cut out so that you can put your head in? That's what this is. . . my head's just sort of put in there. And the kids' faces are great too. They're both saying "cheese," only they aren't looking at the camera.
I love this picture. Both kids with mouths full of candy.

Mmmm. Mmmm. Mmmm. Who wants to give this girl a big kiss??!

Fun times!!

My friend watched the kiddos the other day. Apparently they had a ton of fun!! Why do I waste money on toys, when they are perfectly content with a container?? :)

Sad Story

I totally forgot until like 10 min. ago that it was St. Patricks Day. Yes, it is 4:50 in the pm. No, Amanda, I DID NOT forget it's your birthday, I just forgot that it was also a holiday of sorts.
Meg is wearing pink. There's a couple of spots of green, so that counts, right? Carter is blue, I'm in black. Hmmm. Last year we had green waffles, green syrup and just fun. I can't for the life figure out what to even make for dinner today, much less anything green.
I told you I'm out of it. What is happening to me???
I woke up this morning with a hoarse voice. I thought I was over this.
Anyone want to go grocery shopping for me? How do people with multiple children do it? :) I'm not about to go shopping in the evening by myself when it's dark and the kids are in bed. That's MY time, and it just sounds depressing. :)

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

Thank goodness it's only St. Patricks Day and not Christmas or something, now that would be bad.

sicklings

Carter was super sick last Friday evening till about Monday, when thank HEAVENS he got better. He had a nasty cough, lost his voice, had a 103 fever, no appetite, and was super clingy. Glad that's over. Although in Bo's and my opinion he looks super skinny now, and seems to white to me. My pasty children.
Meg got sick Monday. Up in the nights. Bad cough. At least her fever didn't get quite as high, nor did she completely loose her appetite. By about Wed/Thurs. she was feeling better. Whew.
Bo started feeling sick about Monday/Tuesday ish too. He sounds hoarse, but has been able to go to school, as long as he stays steadily on the meds.
I started feeling like crap last night. Achy body, scratchy throat, yada yada.
If we are all going to get sick, wouldn't it be nicer just to all get sick at the same time? Than we could all be done with this! As it is, I haven't gone anywhere or done anything in the last week. I've got MAJOR cabin fever.

Funny Story

So my cousin Rachel just reminded me of this super funny story. At least its funny to me.
Last summer, at my sister's wedding, while waiting outside the temple for Libby and David, I was talking to my brother Golden, who had just flown in that morning for the wedding. Golden started going around greeting people. He walked up to my cousin Rachel, who was holding Megan, and asked if Meg was hers, saying she was so cute. !!! He was totally serious too.
Oh it was so funny. You should have seen the look on Rachel's face. Golden's was pretty funny too, once he realized the big mistake he had just made. I'm sure I also had quite the expression on my face. :)
Funny too, is that Rachel is single. Oh so funny.

Megan

Today our little Megan/Meg/Megalove is 18 months. Its official. She is nursery age. Man how time flies.
We love this little girl and have enjoyed EVERY MOMENT that she has been in our lives. She is funny, sweet, caring, smiley, so so smart, entertaining, and dang stinkin' CUTE. She loves music and dancing. She can even be heard to sing occasionally.
She is so friendly, waving at anyone and anything that passes by her notice. Her favorite people are her mama and dada, along with Carter. Close seconds are her pals Ashley and Miyah. She LOVES to talk on the phone and to wrap her babies up in her blankey and carry them around. She's a girl through and through and we are loving it.
Love that girl.

Houston Livestock Show 2010

Yesterday we made our annual trip to the Houston Livestock Show. Since my parents were unable to accompany us this year, we invited our good friends the Smiths to come with us. It was a blast, of course!
We saw the pig races, petted all sorts of animals in the petting zoo, watched chickens hatch, wondered around, ate good food, and most importantly, we had the boys compete in the Mutton Bustin'!!!!
That's right, this year Carter and his friend Milo signed up to ride the sheep in the Mutton Bustin'. For those of you who are clueless as to what that is, let me just tell you. They put kids, in a certain age, on these sheep and have them ride them! It's a lot like bull riding, except the kids are on sheep, and thankfully the sheep don't buck. The goal is to stay on the sheep for 6 seconds. Carter lasted I think maybe two seconds. Milo was probably like four seconds.
It was so so funny. I'm proud of Carter!! When he was done he informed me that he didn't cry. I was just proud of him for doing it! Bo and I both thought he'd wimp out. Not our little man!! He later said he didn't want to do it next year, but then after seeing the video of himself, you can hear him saying he wants to do it again. Sweet. Milo got a bruise on his shin from the sheep stepping on him. He was tough, however, and he claims he had a great time. Good job boys!

Meg and Carter probably 5 minutes after getting in the car following our busy day. I would've liked to stay longer but they had had it.

For most of the petting zoo this is how Meg was. She was NOT about to touch those animals. I don't blame her, most of those animals were bigger then her! The animals were hilarious, they would just walk up right next to you. In the picture below, Meg and I were taking a picture of a goat lying down, and this little goat next to me decided to just come up and lean against me and join the family. Meg did finally touch the baby goats with Bo. That's it though.

Carter and Milo. This was towards the end of the day, hence Carter's grumpy face.

The petting zoo was a big hit with the boys. I think we stayed in there for about 20 minutes.

After the boys rode the sheep, they had them all come out in the arena to get their prizes.

The boys all geared up and ready to ride! Yee Haw!

And here is the video of our future champion!!!
