Derrick's Baby Blessing

Post Catch Up:

We did Derrick's baby blessing while my parents were still here. Yes, it was a little early, but we really wanted my dad to be here for it. My dad has been part of all three of our kids blessings now.
Bo blessed Derrick on February 27. It was a beautiful blessing. We are so happy to have this little boy in our lives, and I'm grateful for Bo and the way he lives his life, so that he could have the priesthood and be able to give our children blessings.
As for the pictures... yeah, my dad took the ones of the family and of Bo and me, hence the reason they're blurry. For some reason he couldn't figure out how to focus, even though it has automatic focus. Go figure. ;)

I love Derrick's face in the picture above.

Such a cutie!! Check out his loooong feet.

Mardi Gras 2011

Post Catch Up:
While my parents were here, my dad and Bo took the kiddos to the Mardi Gras Parade. They met up with some friends of ours before it started and were able to play at the beach before the show. They stood at the beginning of the parade this year, so the kids were able to come home with tons of beads and toys, as you'll be able to tell from the pictures.

Drum Roll Please

And Bo matched to...

Us waiting for Bo's name to be called.

They handed out free stuff while waiting for the Match to begin!

Bo getting his letter!

A little blurry, but you can see the excitement.

We don't think the kids quite get it. Megan was looking in the envelope trying to figure out why we were so excited about it.

Posing with the Leprechaun!! (funny side note: while taking the picture, the Leprechaun made sure to tell me she was a girl. hahahaa)

FYI: Indianapolis was Bo's number one choice!! GO BO!!!!

Pictures

Here are some random pictures that need to be posted.
The ones with my parents in them are from when we went to this candy store here on the island, La King's. It's a really fun place that has tons of, you guessed it, candy, along with an ice cream parlor. It was fun to go out and enjoy the nice weather and have some fun before my parents left.

Starting his love for baseball early...
My Mom and Meg at La King's having a little too much fun on the quarter rides.

Carter showing off his treats. He was so proud of them because he bought them with his own money.

Proof I got out of the house once in awhile. I kept Derrick in that sling and didn't let him show his head anywhere (yes he could breath just fine). I needed to get out and spend time with the family but was so worried he'd get sick. Look how tiny he is in that thing!

THREE KIDS!!!! I love them, but wow, what an adjustment.

I must say, I make some pretty cute kids. Okay, maybe Bo helped a little...

Mutton Bustin', Round 2

We went on our annual trip to the Houston Livestock Show yesterday with Cassidy's parents. Carter wanted to give the Mutton Bustin' a try again this year. Last year, the sheep clearly won as Carter was falling off as he came out of the chute. This year, Carter did much better. He still didn't bring home the trophy, but we've already decided we'll probably have to make the trip down to Houston for Mutton Bustin' next year since Carter will be one of the older riders at that point.
The best part was Grandpa Hugh giving Carter some pointers the night before the ride, and also serving as a sheep for Carter to practice on. Before the ride, Carter was fearless. I think if somebody tried to put me on an animal twice my size I'd be a little nervous. But Carter was just super excited to ride again; no reservations about hopping on a sheep whatsoever. Here's the video:

Afterwards, they get the kids together to wave and take pictures. Yeah, that's Carter facing the wrong way the whole time. That kid is funny.
