Trials

I'm not a big fan of trials. It is said that trials make us stronger. That when given trials, we are only given what we can handle. These are supposed to be reassuring.
I'm sorry, but I just don't think I'm strong enough. And are we really sure I can handle them??? Really???? Somebody must have a lot of confidence in me.
And I don't know about YOU, but it seems to me that trials come in clumps. Yep, clumps.
One trial as of late is that the air conditionar broke in my car. Why is this a big deal, some of you may ponder? I mean c'mon, it's Fall! Then it's Winter, and then it's Spring. Yes, I did most obviously just point out the seasons. While these seasons are fairly cool to most of you and hence the air conditionar is not vital until Summer, that is not so down here in this wonderful ghetto little island in the Gulf of Mexico. It is still HOT here people. Okay it's not as hot as it was a few weeks ago, but a working AC is still very important. It is so humid down here that even in DECEMBER you still need to have the AC.
I had to take a bunch of people to the Relief Society Broadcast at the Stake Center, which is an hour away, and by the time we got there, we were all sweaty. I had to put my hair in a pony tail, which is a bummer because I actually styled it that day. We were all red in the face and parched. Really. And that was in the evening!
So now I need to get that fixed. And we have no money. F.U.N. Not to mention we don't know what auto repair shop to go to, who is honest and reliable.
Oh yeah, and now Bo's car is having problems starting. Just another to add to the clump of trials.
I am so ready to get a new car. If only we could find a way to finance it.

I have so been there! I hate car problems, especially a-c problems in Texas. You might try asking Bro. Rabago if he knows someone who works on a/c's. We've had to repair our cars so many times I've lost count. Good luck and hang in there!

Sorry about the A/C! That is SUCH a bummer. We've been to Firestone on the island a couple of times and thought they were decent. But doesn't the bishop or someone in the ward have a car repair shop? If you need help dropping off your car, let us know. Hang in there--you're being a great mom & wife, so you're doing great! I think you're right though, trials tend to come waves.

Stacey just had AC problems with her car. She found a cheap way to fix it. I'll ask her what it was and get back to you.

I'm so sorry. It's so frustrating to have a problem like that and no real way to fix it. Hang in there!

If you find a good place that's decently priced let us know. We're dying without ac in our car too! Hopefully Bo's car will stop acting up.

the other night while I sat there looking at a pile of papers basically telling us that we were too poor for words I asked Stewart, "Can you please tell me that this is all worth it?" He smiled at me and said, "No, Iam sorry but I cant." Wrong answer right?!?!? While I was annoyed at his dropping the ball on comforting me I realized I cant really count on anyone for that comfort except the Lord. I am looking forward to conference and they'll probably tell stories of how all these women lost all their children and were still happy like last time and then I can look past the fact that I have no money for Christmas, anniversaries, new cars, and birthday and ...:) I am glad to know we aren't that only crazy people going through med school with kids, retarded cars, and absolutely no money. Hang in there! I think you guys are awesome. And your kids are so dang cute!

I HATE spending money on fixing cars. seriously it makes me sick everytime David says something needs fixed. so whether you are poor or not cars just suck a lot of money out of you. I rather go shopping, or to the movie,or.....you fill in the blank. stupid cars!!

p.s. I vote the penguin costume.

Yeah, we just had to spend $400 to get the Explorer fixed. If it makes you feel any better, it's almost always the smarter move to get your car fixed instead of buying a new one. It doesn't make it any less annoying, though. You should talk to Golden--I think he can relate to the no A/C thing...
