First Day of Kindergarten

Carter had his first day of school on August 17th. He was so excited. He could hardly sleep the night before, and in the morning he was just bouncing off the walls with anticipation.
Can my baby really be this old??
I had taken Carter to his school the day before to meet his teacher and see his classroom, but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. Darn it. I'll admit it, I started to get teary eyed when we were there. I just can't believe my baby is now leaving me, granted for only 2 and half hours a day. He is growing up and heading off to new adventures without me.
I think Megan had a harder time with Carter going than I did. She was so sad on the walk back to the house, hanging her head and dragging her feet. She's since gotten over it and relishes her time alone. haha.
Mornings are strange now. Meg likes to watch a show or two and then goes off and plays with her toys. Derrick takes his morning naps. Things are....quiet. I actually get to take a shower without fighting children in the background.
Carter only goes to school from 8:30, when he gets on the bus, till 11:40. Then he's home and eating lunch and playing with us. I really like the schedule. I feel like its perfect for transitioning us to full school next year. Like how I said us? It's true, I feel like it's as much for me as it is for him. :)

Waiting for the bus.

The neighborhood kids. I really like our neighborhood. It's perfect for the kids.

Getting on the bus. In all honesty, this is probably the the thing he was most excited for out of the whole day. haha.

Oh Cassidy! Kindergarten. I can still remember how excited I was to ride the bus in first grade.

We are finally at the age where our kids are going to start remembering things. Because hello! I remember kindergarten. My kids FOR SURE will be the most excited about riding the school bus. We still have one more year for that but they still talk about it all the time. I just dropped Kate and Owen off for their first day of preschool. They have the same schedule as Carter. I think it's going to be awesome. They've been so bored lately.

If the bus was the most exciting...he's going to be surprised when he finds out there's a lot more to the day lol.

Happy you guys like your neighborhood!

So fun. I think of Haley's picture on her first day. Seems like yesterday.

How fun to cherish these pictures.

P.S. Haley came home disappointed that no one sang to her . . .

(In primary they sing if you're a new kid. She was clueless that she wasn't the only new kid.:)
