Soccer season has begun!
This year we signed up both Carter and Megan to play. Carter is now on an older team, with only 6 players per team, that is all boys. His games are 4 on 4, so he gets lots of playing time. Megan is in the Tots program, and honestly, I think I maybe should have waited another year before putting her in soccer. The girl has absolutely no ambition, no competitiveness, no attention span. hahaa. She loves the uniform though!!
Bo volunteered to be an assistant coach or something, but somehow ended up with being the coach of BOTH Megan and Carter's teams. To say that I was annoyed and/or mad would be an understatement. So, in case you can't tell, soccer season has been a little bit rough so far.
Carter is starting to remember how to play and is getting the hang of it. He even scored a goal, thanks to the wonderful bribery of going to McDonald's. Don't judge. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do. :) Megan does well for like half of her practice/game (for Tots its just all in one). Bribery doesn't work on her. After the halfway point, she's tired, maybe bored, and extremely thirsty, or so it would appear, what with her billion trips to me for water. :) Last week during scrimmage, which they play at the end of their practice, I caught her dancing in the middle of the field. Dancing! That girl... She LOOOOVES to dance. Don't worry, I have her in dance classes on Monday. I don't blame her sometimes though for whining or wanting to quit. She loves to cuddle and have her parents' affection, and when she has to share her precious Daddy time with 10 other little kids....well, I wouldn't be that into it either.
The kids are happy for the most part. Carter is in his element when he gets to hang out with the boys doing boy things. Megan still loves to play for at least half of it, and she loves going to Carter's games, especially where her pal Eliza, who's brother is on Carter's team, comes too. I think the only one who might not be having a good time would be Derrick, who wants to go play with that soccer ball on the field sooooo bad. Or play in the street, or play on the fence, or do ANYTHING, but stay strapped in that stroller. But he's just going to have to take one for the team, because that stroller not only saves him from being plowed over by the soccer players, cars, and other kids, but also saves ME and allows me some good Soccer Mom cheering time. Go Chicago Fire!!! (Both of their team's names).
Megan and Eliza. Megs and Eliza are also doing preschool together, so those two lucky girls
get to see a lot of each other.
Derrick's gash is looking so much better! It was healing so well, and then he went and bumped it a week after the first incident, just after his stitches were removed, and it re-opened a little bit. Grrr. It's getting better though. He's going to make scars look good and cool.
Classic Megan, leaving the field. Probably coming to get some water.

I love the McDonald's bribe. So awesome. :) I can't wait to put Kaden in soccer when he's older.
Apparently Jer hasn't seen your blog in a while; he hasn't seen Derrick in a while. Says he looks like a mini-Carter. :)
And the main ways to get Miyah to do anything are bribes and races/competitions. So no judging here. :)
Miss you guys!
