Carter has been trying to sell me his money all morning. He wants a dollar, or two, or a hundred dollars for his coins. He's assured me it doesn't have to be a billion. It could "maybe just be 25 dollars."
I told Meg that her birthday was in one month and that she would be turning 3. Her response? "No, I two! I two for long long time. Next I turn 5 like Carter."
--she didn't take it too well that she would never be the same age as Carter.

Oh, your kids. They are so funny. I hope your back is feeling better and happy belated birthday girl! I'm so sorry about your water heater and over heating cars all on your birthday week. That is rough. Sounds like you handled it like a pro. It can only go up from here.
