Memphis Temple and the Mammoth Caves

So we took our time driving to Indiana from Texas. We divided it up into three days, driving from Galveston to Texarkana the first day, then Texarkana to Jackson, TN where our good friends and family, the Heslops live, and the last day we drove from the Heslops to Indy. It was nice taking it easy. Each day we only traveled about 7 hours. Nice. On our way to the Heslops we stopped and saw the Memphis, TN, temple, which totally made the trip for my dad. haha.
About halfway between the Heslops and Indy are the Mammoth Caves, which are the worlds longest caves. We decided to stop and go on a tour inside, and I'm so glad we did. Those caves are rad! We were only able to go on a short tour, but it was enough to make us want to go back sometime.
Anyways, it was a fun trip. I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but my dad took the trip with us to help out with driving the two cars and moving into the house and everything. I'm so glad he was able to help because there is no way we would've been able to do ANY of it without his help. Thanks Dad!

Four years ago Bo was just getting his white coat and starting medical school:

Now he is DONE with that and moving on to bigger and better things. Thats right! On June 4th, Bo officially graduated medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch, UTMB, and is now a DOCTOR!! Woohoo Bo!!!!!!! Now, I could brag and brag about my man and his accomplishments, but instead I'll just include a picture of his name in the program. My only wish was that they had listed him as joining AOA, which is the national honor society for med. school, as a junior. Only 9 out of 220 students joined as a junior. I'm so proud of Bo. He worked and studied really hard so that he could support his family. What an amazing man, husband, and father. We love you!

Before I forget, on the way to the airport, seriously like 5 min. from the airport, Megan threw up all over herself. OH MAN. It was bad. Luckily we got it all cleaned up and put her in her pjs with just enough time to catch the plane. The poor thing. Still, not a bad flight.

The hike to Ancient Lake

Towards the end of our time in Washington, we decided to go on a hike to Ancient Lake, somewhere past Quincy and near the Columbia River.
We didn't actually make it to the lake because of a steep part of the hike that was too dangerous for our party of hikers. Later, after looking over the area on a map, we realized that we took the wrong hike. No wonder!! Oh well, we had fun!

We saw three snakes on the hike, this was by far the biggest one. It's like 2 feet away from my knee.

This was where we turned around. After this it was a steep drop to the valley below on a rock slide. No, thank you.

Washington pictures

Well our trip to Washington has come and gone. We've had a lot of fun, but didn't take near as many pictures as we should have. All the same, here are some of the random ones we did take. We love Washington and being so near family.

Silverwood!!

A couple weekends ago, we went to Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho with Bo's dad and brother, Dallin. It was a ton of fun, and to prove it we have posted about a million pictures to follow.

Carter was really excited to go on the big boy roller coaster (the only one he was tall enough to ride with an adult). As we got closer, though, he started having second thoughts. We managed to get him on in the end though by telling him he needed to smile when he saw the camera on the ride. He kept his head up during the initial drop (because he had no idea it was coming), but ducked it the rest of the ride. I had no idea what to expect at the end of the ride because it was so fast and loud, I couldn't hear Carter at all. I thought he might come up crying, but instead he popped is head up and said "Dad, I didn't see the camera." What a trooper. He said he had fun but didn't want to ride it again.

They have a train ride around the park that used to be kind of cool, but now they have this lame "sherriff" that talks about himself the whole time. Still, it was a pretty ride.

This was the first ride the kids went on. They had fun, but Cassidy says she was worried Megan was going to slip through the bar so she was holding on tight the whole time.

Megan seriously would have happily gone back and forth between the helicopters and airplanes the entire time. She even finally figured out how to get them to go up and down.

Megan's job was to keep her hand on the button at all times. She did great, even when she was getting sprayed.

All in all, a very fun day. The kids were exhausted by the end, and ready to go home. The adults may have been a little worn out too.
